After such a successful season with our kid’s club season and lots of frothing Grommets eager to get back in the water. We thought we would create a Junior kit guide for 2020. We can imagine your new mini surf addicts are chomping at the bit for their very own boards and wetsuits and with winter drawing in and Santa on the way now’s the ideal time to get your little nipper suited and booted for the new year ahead. It’s important to make sure you choose the right kit for your youth.
Often, we see kids dashing down to hit the waves armed with surfboards that are too small and wetsuits that are too big and swiftly come trotting back cold and disheartened. We all want to see them having a good time in the water and catching as many waves as possible with a smile from ear to ear and there’s no reason why they shouldn’t.

- We understand your little whipper snappers are growing rapidly and it may be tempting to purchase a wetsuit with extra space for them to grow into. Trust us it’s not worth the risk. Their wetsuit wants to act as a second skin and without too much space for cold water flushing. A suit that is too big defeats the object of its job.

- We suggest the use of a full hooded suit from the end of September-early May and a more lightweight summer suit throughout the warmer months. Alternatively another option is to have a standard 5mm hoodless wetsuit that can be used all year round and a sperate hood attached during winter.
