The R4 boots are just about thick enough down here, the R3 boots were too thin at 3mm without the wool insulation, just not up to the job. 3mm winter boots?....nah. The R4's are a nice easy on-off boot unlike many other brands I tried on, very grippy sole and super comfortable, well constucted.
